Mt. Baden-Powell Trail

  • Strenuous Hike. 8 miles round-trip from Highway 2 to summit and back. 2,300 foot elevation gain. Great views of ocean, mountains and desert! Wildflowers.

  • Start at trailhead 9.2 miles west of Wrightwood on Highway 2 at Vincent Gap parking area. Trail switchbacks up the forested north-east slope of Mt. Baden-Powell.

  • Hike may take up to 6-8 hours round trip. Carry water and clothes for cool, windy conditions at the summit.

    Limber Pine Forest

     Rare Limber Pines, ancient and enchanted trees that can only exist above 9,000 ft.

    Pacific Crest Trail

     Hike to the the top of Mt Baden-Powell with us. Four miles and over a half mile up along the Pacific Crest Trail from Vincent Gap.

    Lamel Spring

     Small spring emerges from under a rock. Take a peek in and see where it's coming from.

    Vincent's Cabin

     Tom Vincent's place for 56 years (not on trail).

    Bighorn Mine

     Grand-daddy of the San Gabriel gold mines (not on trail).
